I can't believe 2016 is already almost over! I've sort of been on "hiatus" as it's been a weird year filled with various family & friend deaths, a couple of badly injured owls to rehab, & contracting a weird illness myself, (which seems to be over with now). That's how it goes sometimes, plus my life continues to be filled with odd surreal events. "Odd" is "normal" from what I can tell at this point. I admit that I have devoted ZERO time to this page & all that goes along with it. Facebook recently banned me from my accounts for not being a conformist, so I guess I need to deal with that at some point (haha), but it's such a tedious thing for me to create all new pages that I haven't even started.
On another note, there's is a new wild Cooper's Hawk friend who I've named "Al" that has been visiting me for a couple years now. One day he just appeared in the back yard wanting food (as I was breeding live mice at the time for the owls). He was clearly a juvenile hawk & simply wouldn't leave, so I finally caved & fed him. He's been coming back ever since! Now an adult, he hunts on his own, but when he's not so successful he comes around for a meal & sometimes he just comes to check in with me. Interestingly, whenever I dream of him he is there that morning & whenever I feel sad, he shows up. We definitely have some sort of connection going on. Maybe I really do have bird blood in me? Haha. There's now also a wild screech owl which comes at sunset almost daily & sits on a branch & looks at me for awhile before flying away. I have actually wondered if it is an owl that I rehabbed & released somewhere nearby?
Unfortunately, there's only so much time in a day, & between my "regular job" in (human-related) healthcare , rehabbing sick & injured raptors, & taking care of my animal companions in the house, that doesn't leave a whole lot of time left over. Perhaps I misjudged how much time & effort doing 10 things at once take? It's the curse of the multitasker I guess! At any rate, it will soon be time to get working on some new pieces as I've been accumulating all kinds of cool beads & have a bunch of ideas for them. Maybe I'll even have time to do some drawing & painting again (yeah, right)...I can dream though, can't I? So, dream I do, (& if all goes well) 2017 will have some new & interesting things coming up!
Cheers,

(Al hanging out on the patio. He will sit here & wait patiently for me until I give him something to eat. Sometimes he would sit all day until I come home from work! YES, he is 100% wild & he simply does what he wants to do. Evidently, we can share the raptor frequency of communication, so we're friends now & have a mutual understanding. Most people can hardly believe it & I have no other explanation for it. It just is & I adore him!)
